Meet Our Trainers

Catherine L. Waltz, Ph.D., LCSW has been providing public education programs since 1983.  Since 1992 she has been presenting continuing education programs to professional clinical social workers, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists and numerous other health/mental health professionals locally, as well as in national and international venues.  In 1995, Dr. Waltz became a training consultant for the Domestic Abuse Intervention Project (DAIP) in Duluth, Minnesota as has provided many workshops on the use of  Process of Changef for Men who Batter the internationally recognized and used curriculum for working with men who batter their partners.  She has trained hundreds of people on this curriculum from Guam to Russia.  As a training consultant for DAIP, Dr. Waltz has also provided training on several other domestic violence curricula and topics.  Dr. Waltz provides interesting, interactive workshops in small group settings on Ethics & Boundary Issues, Medical Errors Prevention (with specific emphasis on relevance to clinical mental health practitioners), Domestic Violence: A Clinical Perspective, and Florida Laws and Rules

Mary Jo Klingel, LCSW is a clinical social worker in private practice with offices in Coral Springs and Fort Lauderdale.  Her practice includes Gestalt therapy, women's issues, process work and groupwork.  She is currently developing her skills in utilizing EMDR.   Mary Jo has led clinical superivsion groups and other workshops for more than 16 years.  She participated in an authentic Movement Collective in the Tampa Bay area for many years before starting a similar collective in Fort lauderdale, in addition to offering Authentic Movement workshop and individual sessions. 

Dr. Waltz and Mary Jo Klingel have developed an enjoyable, experiential, process-oriented small group workshop for professionals desiring to become Qualified Supervisors. Their workshop Practice Friendly Supervision has been provided since 2001.  Over the past 10 years nearly 300 individuals have attended and completed their training to become Qualified Supervisors in Florida

Ronald W. Hall, II, LCPC has developed training and workshops for mental health professionals on a variety of topics over the past 15 years.  His topics range from Crisis Assessment, Anger Management, Forgiveness, Ethics & Boundalry Issues, Relapse Prevention and Marital Communications.  Mr. Hall is in private practice in McHenry, Illinois.  He and Dr. Waltz occasionally co-host workshops in Illinois and/or Florida.

Susan Mankita, MSW, LCSW has been a proud Professional Social Worker for almost 25 years.  She is an adjunct faculty member at Florida International University, Stempel School of Public Health and Social Work   She has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in practice and human behavior and child welfare.  She provides clinical supervision for licensure, offers consultation services to non-profit agencies, and is a public speaker and trainer on a variety of practice related topics. She is known locally and around the United States to social workers for her expertise on Internet ethics and practice. She was the Founder of the AOL Social Work Forum and currently serves as the Community Manager of www.socialworkchat.org, an online community for social workers, co-sponsored by NASW and The New Social Worker Online.
